Water finds the pan, the pan was not sloped, the membrane stopped short of the curb, and two years later the ceiling below has a stain that spreads. Tile hides all of it until it cannot.

What the work includes
Every bathroom we build gets waterproofed and flood-tested before a single tile goes on.
Design and layout
We measure the room, draw it to scale and settle the fixture positions before anything is ordered. Door swings, glass panels and where the light falls all get decided on paper.
Demolition and inspection
Tile, vanity, tub and substrate come out and the framing behind them gets looked at. Rot, old repairs and undersized joists get photographed and shown to you the same day.
Waterproofing
Pans are built and sloped on site, then the whole wet area is membraned and flood-tested. We hold water in the pan overnight and check the ceiling below before tiling starts.
Plumbing and electrical
Licensed plumbers and electricians on our own crew. Supply lines, waste, valves, exhaust, heated floors and lighting circuits all run and inspected before the walls close up.
Tile and stone
Floors, walls, niches and benches set by our own tilers, with the layout planned so cuts land where nobody looks. Stone tops are templated after the vanity is set.
Vanities, glass and fittings
Cabinetry from our own shop, frameless glass measured after tiling, then fittings, mirrors and a final clean. We walk the room with you and write the punch list together.

What is a flood test and why does it matter?
We plug the drain, fill the finished pan with water and leave it overnight, then check the ceiling below in the morning. It proves the waterproofing before tile hides it, and it is the one step that separates a bathroom that lasts from one that stains a ceiling.
Can a tub become a walk-in shower?
Almost always, and it is the most requested job we do. The drain position and the fall decide the detail, and where a level entry is wanted we set the pan so there is no lip to step over.
Can grab bars go in later?
Only properly if we plan for them now. We install timber blocking behind the board while the wall is open, so a bar can be anchored into solid timber at any point in the future, with no reliance on tile to hold weight.
Do we need a permit for a bathroom?
As soon as plumbing or electrical moves, which is nearly every bathroom. We pull it in whichever Palm Beach County municipality you are in and book the inspections around the build.
How long is the bathroom out of use?
Three to five weeks for a full rebuild. If it is the only bathroom in the house we say so at the estimate and plan the sequence to shorten the worst of it as far as the trades allow.
